Workers excavating a tunnel, discover weird ape-like skeletons in a strange spaceship. The spaceship soon starts to exert a malevolent influence on the people in its vicinity.

The Quatermass Xperiment
(1955)

Professor Quatermass heads a missile launch. It crashes in the countryside and kills two of the three man crew. The third member survives but starts to undergo a strange transformation into a hideous being.

Quatermass 2
(1957)

Professor Quatermass is the director of a mission to colonise the moon. When some meteorites fall close to a village, Quatermass discovers a huge factory under military control that purports to manufacture artificial food. Quatermass's probing leads to him uncovering a plot by aliens to use the factory to conquer the Earth.
